Wrong Answer !!

Wrong answer

I have recently challenged Christians to show me what is the age consent for marriage found in the Bible? Like always they were silent until this one Christian  came up with the most absurd answer which she took from scam shamoun and absolutely took the biscuit lol. She said the age consent for marriage is found in the book of Ezekiel chapter 16. Here's what she posted :

Ezekiel 16:4 NIV Translation

4 On the day you were born your cord was not cut, nor were you washed with water to make you clean, nor were you rubbed with salt or wrapped in cloths. 5 No one looked on you with pity or had compassion enough to do any of these things for you. Rather, you were thrown out into the open field, for on the day you were born you were despised. 6 “‘Then I passed by and saw you kicking about in your blood, and as you lay there in your blood I said to you, “Live!”[a] 7 I made you grow like a plant of the field. You grew and developed and entered puberty. Your breasts had formed and your hair had grown, yet you were stark naked. 8 “‘Later I passed by, and when I looked at you and saw that you were old enough for love, I spread the corner of my garment over you and covered your naked body… –

As you read the passage, the girl attained the age for lovemaking after her breast had grown and pubic hairs, these are clear signs of puberty. As shown, the Bible does not give explicit age for someone to get married, but what it does give, reading the passage, ‘puberty’ is the minimum age for a girl allowed to get married.

Bible Translations: Ezekiel 16:7-8

Ezekiel 16:7-8 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB) And you did increase, you developed, you reached puberty, your breasts appeared, and your hair grew long; but you were naked and exposed. 8 “‘Again I passed by you, looked at you and saw that your time had come, the time for love…

Notice how she believes the above passage means Age of Marriage Consent? Let's examine her false claims and bury it for good.

Ezekiel 16 is actually a parable spoken about the Jewish nation the nation of Isreal and how God is dealing with them, this is agreed upon by all biblical commentators people such as :

Ellicott's Commentary for English Readers

They all agree that Ezekiel 16 is not literal rather metaphorical or a parable spoken of the Jewish nation. Let's get deeper and prove that Ezekiel 16 was not talking about Age Consent for Marriage
In order to understand a message one has to read the entire text from context or else you can easily cherry pick or mistranslate the verse you picked, which is often done by Christians and Ezekiel 16 is a perfect example. Now we know from the beginning of the chapter that is from context Yahweh is speaking about the Jewish nation as told in verse 1-2

1Again the word of the LORD came to me: 2“Son of man, make known to Jerusalem her abominations, (Ezekiel 16:1-2)

Note that Jerusalem is known as HER I.e inform the people of Jerusalem what's they've done.. And in biblical language male and female genders were often given to place or even celestial planets.

Secondly we are told that Yahweh knew this "Female " before she was born and whilst in the womb and after she was born saw her naked, saw her pubic hair grow and she was ready for love and carries on how she betrayed the Lord and how his wrath fell upon her etc... Does that not sound like a parable of the Jewish nation on how they were the chosen people of God and  how God  saw them from brith how they grew to be a nation and how they betrayed god's trust and how the wrath fell upon them? or does it sound like the story of one single lady?

Jewish Biblical commentator like rashis also speak of it as a parable of Jewish nation and not of a single women.

Let's examine the crucial part which suppose to suggest an age?

I made you grow like a plant of the field. You grew and developed and entered puberty. Your breasts had formed and your hair had grown, yet you were stark naked.
"Later I passed by, and when I looked at you and saw that you were old enough for love, I spread the corner of my garment over you and covered your naked body"

Notice the above verse sates Yahweh passed by her saw her OLD ENOUGH FOR LOVE! There is no Indication of MARRIAGE ! She's old enough for love but not marriage? And at what age does puberty start for a female it depends on what part of the world you are due to climate change..  SO SHALL WE CONCLUDE YAHWEH IS SAYING WHEN A FEMALE HAS HER PUBERTY DONT MARRY HER JUST HAVE SEX WITH HER?

And also just as brother kaleef k. Karim from discover the truth pointed out from one of his academic articles about numbers 31:17-18 bible allowing pre pubescent marrige and I quote from his website

1. Nowhere in the above verse does it say ‘that you are forbidden from marrying pre-pubescent females’, where does it say that “you are forbidden from marrying pre-pubescent girls” from the Bible? Where are the verses that abrogate Numbers 31:18 explicitly?
2. How is Ezekiel 16:1-8 A PARABLE (not a command) override (abrogate) Numbers 31:18? When in Numbers 31: 18, it explicitly states that you can ‘take for YOURSELVES’, marry female captives by force.
3. How is Ezekiel in anyway relevant to Moses and his soldiers, when Ezekiel was born nearly 700 years after Moses? Ezekiel did not even exist when Moses and his soldiers were raping, marrying pre-pubescent females

I think this paper is enough to debunk the nonsense that Ezekiel 16 spoke about any Age consent for marriage once again we ask
